![]() But beware – the beam uses power and you need to collect battery packs around the world to recharge. The beam can also be used on normal monsters that are found patrolling, targeting weak spots on their body. ![]() ![]() This can be used to open access to doorways, shining it on the monsters guarding it. As you progress you get a upgrade to that light, allowing you to shine a tight beam. You have a torch to begin with and you can use this to see of course, but the monsters will detect you more easily. Eurogamer reports that Tequila Works is bringing Stadias first exclusive, Gylt, to other platforms. Obviously you will need to move around the barriers to progress to where you need to go. Embark on a journey where you face your worst fears and are confronted with the emotional impact of your actions in this narrative adventure game with puzzles, stealth and action. Now that Google is shutting down Stadia, at least one of its exclusives is headed elsewhere. There are monsters all around the map and the first thing to do is to crouch and hide behind barriers to stop them from spotting. Gameplay wise it’s all about stealth first of all. I think it’s good to have a family game that isn’t afraid to go dark in places, whilst collectibles are in place books you can pick up around the levels that add to the story. There is some good writing on show here and the characters are very engaging. I like the story and – as mentioned – it kept me engaged from start to finish. Soon she is on an adventure to find Emily. Think ‘the upside down’ in Stranger Things and you might get an idea of what is going on. She then finds herself in an alternative version of Bethalwood, full of monsters and strange beings. We find out early on that she has a younger cousin, Emily, who has been missing for almost a month now. We start with her running away from some bullies this acts as a small tutorial. GYLT is an eerie story mixing fantasy and reality in a surrealist place where your nightmares become. I enjoyed it for the most part. The story puts you in the shoes of a young teen called Sally who lives in the small mining town of Bethalwood. Gylt, a horror adventure game that died with Stadia, is now back on PC, Xbox, and PS5. Only one collectible you'll probably have to look up, it's in a really stupid place - that for most will be impossible to find without a guide. This game isn’t for the faint of heart and it will certainly get you in the feels, but the journey is worth the emotional risk. The gameplay is built to complement the story and the devs did a great job of pulling those two pieces together. Its story is overwhelmingly sad, relatable, and impactful. You're essentially running after this kid and unless you read everything - you don't know why. GYLT from Tequila Works is a heavy game to bear. I just don't like how they did the story. I'm fine with them (cute, adorable - nice animations, etc). You have no idea why your (spoilers) cousin chooses to run from you every chance she gets or again why. If you choose to not read any "books" this game is kind of mindless. Maybe it's my age, but I chose to focus on the latter. After its release as an exclusive launch title on Google Stadia in 2019, GYLT will be now accessible to new players starting July 6th on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC, with wishlist open on Steam. Either you wanted a mindless horror game with monsters or you delve a bit deeper into the emotional core of the title. At the core of this game - it is about 1) finding your cousin and 2) finding out why she went missing in the first place. Where do I begin with this game? Maybe I should point fingers at the trailer for stressing its horror elements. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.
